Job summary

Jasmine Healthcare is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for South Moor Lodge Care Home in Walkeringham. The role involves preparing, cooking and serving meals to residents, with duties including cleaning kitchen equipment and ensuring health and food safety compliance.

We value a team player with good communication skills, willing to sign NVQ Level 2, and with prior care or residential setting experience. 3 days per week, 10:00–18:00, with alternative weekends.

Qualifications

• Live within 20 minutes of the Home.
• Willing to sign up to an NVQ Level 2 qualification.
• Team player with good communication.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time.
• One year of experience in a similar role preferred.
• Experience in residential or nursing home preferred.
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace preferred.

Job description

South Moor Lodge is located in the idyllic village of Walkeringham (5 miles to the West of Gainsborough). The home is centred around a nineteenth century barn, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home sits within two acres of landscaped grounds, and provides personal and dementia care for 41 residents. Role Responsibilities for Kitchen Assistant:

Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparing, cooking and serving meals to our residents
• Assist in washing and cleaning kitchen equipment and surfaces
• Acting in line with health & safety and food hygiene guidelines

Requirements and Qualifications

• Live within 20 minutes of the Home
• Willing to contractually sign up to an NVQ Level 2 in a relevant qualification
• Team player
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good time management
• Good written and oral communication skills
• A willingness to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our residents
• A positive and enthusiastic outlook
• One years' experience in a similar role (preferred)
• One years' experience working in a residential or nursing home. (preferred)
• Hold a relevant level 2 or 3 qualification (preferred)
• Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace (preferred)
• A good reason or experience that has drawn you to working in a care setting

Salary and Working Hours
