Job summary

Jasmine Healthcare is seeking a Cook at St Andrew's Nursing and Care Home in Sleaford, NG34 9PL. This Full Time Permanent contract runs 8am to 4pm, with 3–4 shifts per week and occasional weekend working. Salary is £14.47 per hour plus incentives.

You will provide a high-quality catering service for residents, manage costs, and help maintain meals that meet nutritional standards. Applicants should have Level 3 in Catering (or be registered to complete it) and at least two years’ catering

Qualifications

• Experience in catering with focus on high-quality resident meals.
• Two years minimum catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Level 3 in Catering or contractually signed up to complete this qualification.
• Excellent people management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing, managing, and developing a high-quality catering service to residents, guests and visitors to the home.
• Operating a safe, professional, and cost-effective catering service within budget and standards.
• Ensuring residents have a variety of nutritious meals and snacks daily.
• Ensuring food orders are placed punctually and costs stay within budget.

About St Andrew's Nursing & Care Home

St Andrew's is located in the lovely village of Ewerby (5 miles to the East of Sleaford). The home is set around a lovely old vicarage, which has been selectively extended in keeping with its character. This provides the homeliness that Jasmine seeks for its homes, whilst still providing modern living accommodation. The home provides personal care, including nursing and dementia care, for 42 residents.

Role Responsibilities As a Cook

• Providing, managing, and developing a high-quality catering service to our residents, guests and visitors to the home.
• Operating a safe, professional, and cost-effective catering service within the company operational standards and complying with all statutory requirements.
• Ensuring that all our residents are provided with enough choice of nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, broadly following the standard menus.
• Ensuring that food orders are made punctually two times a week and that the food costs are within budget throughout the year.

Role Requirements As a Cook

• Level 3 in Catering or be contractually signed up to complete this qualification.
• Hold two years minimum catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience conducting effective person-centred one to ones.
• Hold one year minimum people management experience.
• Live within 20 minutes of the Home.
