Contract Services is the in-house school catering provider for London Borough of Tower Hamlets operating in over 60 school sites.
We are seeking to employ Catering Kitchen Assistants to work Term Time only, for 12.5 hours per week (this equates to 39 weeks per year - pay pro rata).
As a Kitchen Assistant you are at the heart of our operation and we are looking for individuals who share our energy and passion and will contribute to our on-going success. You will be working in a variety of kitchens around the Borough with catering teams who are committed to delivering service excellence and feeding pupils and adults a healthy freshly cooked school meal on a daily basis.
You will be responsible for basic food preparation, assist with cooking and serving of the school meals.
You must have a good understanding of the 14 allergy food groups.
Excellent customer services and communication skills is essential.
You must have a good understanding of health safety in the workplace.
You will maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen.
You must ensure the correct use of all machinery and equipment and assist as and when required with the loading or unloading of deliveries.
You will be required to attend a 3-day induction course whereby a English literacy and numeracy test will be taken.
