Job summary

Floryn House Care Home in Yarnton, Oxfordshire, is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to support high quality meals in a clean, safe kitchen. You will help with food preparation, keep the kitchen tidy, and assist with deliveries, storage and stock control.

You will work closely with the Chef and team to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly across day shifts. The role requires flexibility, reliability and a readiness to learn in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A positive and reliable approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

Our brand new, purpose-built facility situated in the beautiful village of Yarnton, Oxfordshire, provides exemplary Residential, Dementia, Nursing & Respite care for 73-residents.

• £12.71 per hour


• Contracted to 40 hours per week


• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided


• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Kitchen Assistant, you will support the delivery of high quality meals within a clean, safe and well organised kitchen environment. This is a hands on role where your contribution helps ensure meals are prepared efficiently and to a high standard.
You will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness across the kitchen and assist with deliveries, storage and stock organisation. Working closely with the Chef and wider team, you will help ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and safely at all times.
This role offers a consistent routine and the opportunity to build or develop your experience within a supportive and well organised kitchen environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
