Job summary

Champneys is hiring a Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team and help deliver exceptional experiences to guests and colleagues. The role involves supporting chefs with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations in our staff dining spaces.

Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential; full training is provided. You will work in a busy, team-focused environment with opportunities to learn and grow within our well-being brand.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation and presentation in staff dining facilities.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in kitchen and storage areas.
  • Wash and prep kitchen equipment and crockery for service.
  • Support chefs with day-to-day operations.
  • Receive, store and rotate deliveries per food safety procedures.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and keep records.
  • Ensure safe, organised work areas compliant with food hygiene.
  • Assist with stock takes and events during peak trading.

Contract: Full Time
Salary: up to £12.71 per hour plus tips

As we celebrate over 100 years of wellbeing, we're looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our talented culinary team and play an important part in delivering exceptional experiences to our guests and colleagues.

This is a hands-on and varied role where no two days are the same. You'll support our chefs with food preparation, maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation, help keep our kitchens operating efficiently and assist in providing meals within our staff dining facilities. Your contribution will be essential to the smooth running of our kitchen operations and the experience we deliver every day.

What you'll be doing
As a Kitchen Assistant, you'll support the wider kitchen team by:

  • Assisting with the preparation and presentation of food within our staff dining facilities.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout all kitchen, storage and back-of-house areas.
  • Washing and preparing kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery for service.
  • Supporting chefs and the wider kitchen team with day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Receiving, storing and rotating deliveries in line with food safety procedures.
  • Following cleaning schedules and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensuring all working areas remain safe, organised and compliant with food hygiene requirements.
  • Assisting with stock takes and inventory control when required.
  • Supporting the kitchen team during events, functions and peak trading periods.
  • Communicating effectively with colleagues across the resort to ensure seamless operations.
