Job summary

Advinia Health Care is seeking a General Assistant to join the kitchen team at Golfhill Care Home in Glasgow. You will support chefs in meal preparation, help with deliveries, and maintain a tidy, hygienic kitchen.

The role offers a calm work environment, opportunities for career development and a competitive hourly rate of £12.71. DBS/PVG disclosure is required for all candidates. The position is 30 hours per week with some social interactions beyond the kitchen.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP is preferred.
• Experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and cooking of meals per policy.
• Serve residents, staff and visitors with meals and drinks.
• Maintain storage procedures and stock rotation.
• Ensure areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.
• Support kitchen to meet hygiene standards and policies.
• Liaise with dietitians regarding dietary meals.

As a General Assistant you will be:

• Assisting catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Serving Residents, staff and visitors with food and beverages.

• Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.

• Ensuring that all areas, equipment and furniture are cleaned and stored correctly.

• As part of the catering team, ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.

• Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Relevant Catering Qualification (Desirable)

• Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP

• Experience of working within similar role.

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
