About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals loved by our residents. You’ll uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures, training new starters, or cleaning spills, your focus will always be on resident wellbeing.
We seek a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience, or at least an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to study for one. Strong record-keeping, organizational skills, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. When communicating with residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are paramount.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know what actions to take if concerns arise. All colleagues must attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns if necessary.
