Job description

Kitchen Assistant
Salary: £12 per hour
Contract type: Permanent, Part Time (16 hours per week)
Shift patterns: Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues 10am-2pm or 9.30am-1.30pm (flexibility required)
Location: Cornerstones, Tilehurst, Berkshire (on-site)

About the role
We’re searching for aKitchen Assistantto join our friendly and hard-working team at A2Dominion.

Key responsibilities:
•Preparation and service of food, and cleaning of kitchen.
•Food service operative preparing packed teas and service meals to residents meeting Company and Environmental Health Standards. Taking Responsibility for Particular dietary and cultural needs.
•Completing your segments in all cleaning records.
•Reporting resident feedback to manager.
•Carry out Health & Safety & Food Hygiene standards checks as directed by the chef manage, in line with A2Dominion Catering Standards and taking responsibility that all practices meet the statutory regulations, including the Registered Homes Act 1984, and A2Dominions Health & Safety policy
•Supporting Manager in preparing and responding to inspections and audits by external authorities and other bodies and fulfilling reporting requirements.
•Take Responsibility for Acting up as chef as required following induction.
•Ability to take responsibility for restaurant front of house service delivery and maintaining the standards set by the Catering Manager

More about you
For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following:
•Ability to engage with vulnerable customers and their families
•Can-do attitude
•Basic IT Literacy skills
•Ability to follow instructions from Chef Manager and Catering Manager
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•Experience working in a kitchen environment previously is not essential – full training provided.
