About You
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals loved by our residents. You’ll maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Whether maintaining food supplies, showing new starters how to use equipment, or cleaning spills, your focus will always be on resident wellbeing.
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with some kitchen experience, ideally with an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to study for one. Great organisational skills, the ability to follow recipes, and good record-keeping are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond. All colleagues will attend safeguarding training and undertake additional relevant training. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
