Job summary

Agincare is hiring a Kitchen Assistant at The Coombs Care Home in Coleford. You will help the chef prepare nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring high cleanliness and safety standards while supporting residents with a warm dining experience.

Hours are 48 over a 2-week period, with specific shifts including mornings and some weekends. No care background is required; your care shows in the meals and welcoming atmosphere you create.

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Flexible to work alternate weekends and to work split shifts.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills are important to engage with residents.

Responsibilities

  • Support the chef to prepare balanced, nutritious meals and snacks.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Follow food safety, COSHH, and health & safety guidelines.
  • Work both independently and as part of the team.
  • Engage with residents, bringing warmth and friendliness to the dining experience.

Your role:
  • Support the chef to prepare balanced, nutritious meals and snacks

  • This position is working 48 hours over a 2 week period:
  • Week 1: Monday 8am-2pm, Wednesday 8am-2pm, Friday 8am-2pm and 3pm-7pm
  • Week 2: Monday 8am-2pm, Saturday 8am-2pm and Sunday 8am-2pm and 3pm-7pm
