Job summary

Certas Energy in Cannock is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of our Truckstops kitchen, delivering friendly service while maintaining high food hygiene and safety standards.

You will prepare and serve food, help with stock and cleanliness, and work as part of a team to meet customer expectations and contribute to sales targets.

The role requires a positive attitude, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a willingness to learn safety procedures.

• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and serving food in line with brand standards.
• Delivering excellent customer service and creating a positive customer experience.
• Supporting food preparation activities and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen area.
• Maintaining food hygiene standards and ensuring HACCP compliance.
• Completing daily and scheduled cleaning tasks; following health & safety policies.
• Supporting stock management, receiving deliveries and reporting shortages.
• Contributing to site sales targets and overall business performance.
• Collaborating with colleagues as part of the retail team.

As a Kitchen Assistant within our Truckstops business, you'll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our kitchen outlet, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining high standards of food preparation, cleanliness, and food safety. You'll help create a positive and welcoming experience for customers through efficient service, quality food preparation, and a safe, organised working environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, customer-focused attitude with excellent teamwork skills.
• Ideally, previous experience within a retail, hospitality, catering, or food service environment.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and customer service.
