Job summary

Abbeyhealthcare in Scotland is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef/Assistant Chef in meeting residents' dietary needs. You will help prepare and serve meals for a large number of people and assist with dining room setup.

You'll maintain high hygiene standards, follow home policies, and participate in mandatory training, COSHH awareness, and safety procedures to ensure a safe, clean kitchen environment.

Qualifications

  • An insight into preparing and serving meals for a large number of people.
  • To accept reasonable duties as delegated by the Chef/Assistant Chef
  • To assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages as required

Responsibilities

  • To prepare the dining room for the serving of meals
  • To clear tables and ensure all crockery and cutlery are washed put away
  • To work in accordance with the homes policies
  • To carry out kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times
  • Report any issues or matters raised by service users concerning catering to the Chef or Home Manager
  • Abide and understand policies and procedures
  • Attend mandatory and in house training as required
  • Understand COSHH issues
  • Maintain cleanliness and records as required
  • Health and Safety

Job Purpose

To support the Chef/Assistant Chef in meeting the dietary needs of the residents.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Qualifications

Report any issues or matters raised by service users concerning catering to the Chef or Home Manager

To be familiar with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. Any areas of concern must be brought to the attention of the Home Manager or Person in Charge at the time
