Job summary

Nottingham Forest Football Club is seeking a dedicated Kit & Equipment Controller for the Academy based at The Nigel Doughty Academy, Nottingham. You will manage all training, travel and match-day kit, ensuring correct ordering, printing and laundering in line with league standards, while coordinating with coaching and medical staff.

You will be responsible for stock control, reporting, and ensuring safe, timely delivery for every session, including away fixtures.

Qualifications

Excellent attention to detail and is very well organised and punctual.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels and is fully computer literate.
Works effectively in a fast-paced environment; remains calm under pressure and is comfortable working to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Take lead responsibility for ensuring that the correct kit is available for all Academy players and staff on a daily basis and that all match kit is prepared and packed in line with Professional Development League and PL2 standards.
Ensure that all numbers are correctly ordered and printed on the playing kit for Players and training kits for Players and Staff, liaising with Retail as appropriate.
Order, sort and distribute all training, travel and playing kit for Players and Staff so that each individual has the correct kit for the event / fixture / training session.
Ensure all kit is returned to the Laundry following every session and that the Laundry is aware of the full Academy weekly training schedule and all fixtures and keep them up to date with changes promptly.
Order all training, travel and match kits for Players and Staff for the next season within budget.
Ensure all training and playing equipment is ready and available for every session, such as footballs set at the correct pressure, bibs, cones, poles and mannequins.
Supply correct equipment at the training field / pitch for warm ups, matches and training sessions for Coaching staff to set up.
Liaise with medical staff if any injured players are training on scheduled days off and with coaching staff if any First Team players are involved in B Team fixtures.
Order all footballs for the new season and liaise with coaching staff to order any training accessories and equipment needed for the new season.
Produce when required monthly, quarterly and yearly reports in line with our Academy strategy to update on progress met and achieved in relation to our kit strategy tactics and KPI’s.
You may be asked to undertake additional duties to those above, either on a temporary or permanent basis, which the Club reasonably believes you are capable of carrying out, or for which you will be trained.
Relevant professional, ethical and health and safety standards apply.
You will be required to work on all home and away match days (squad TBC) which will involve travel and overnight stays which will necessitate a flexible approach and attitude to working hours as this will involve early mornings and late nights.
Complete regular real time stock level checks and reports to be made available to Academy Management.
A full UK driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive the dedicated Club vehicle.
Present a professional image when dealing with both internal and external contacts and partners, acting in a professional manner always.
To create successful and professional relationships with players and staff whilst maintaining professional distance from playing staff at all times.

All staff are responsible for the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults on all Club sites. If you have a concern or witness a Safeguarding matter, you must report it to the department’s Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) or the Club’s Lead DSO or Senior Safeguarding Manager. If It’s an emergency, you are to call the relevant emergency service such as Police or CAMHS.
