Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is recruiting a part-time Social Worker for the Kinship Support Team in Gloucestershire. You’ll provide ongoing support to foster carers, conduct private fostering assessments, and help ensure safe, stable family life for looked-after children.

Ideal candidates have a driving licence, DBS clearance, and have completed ASYE or will enter our in-house pathway. The role offers pro rata salary and hybrid working arrangements with a strong supervision culture.

Qualifications

• A full driving licence is required and willingness to drive.
• DBS clearance (Enhanced Adults and Children’s) is required.
• You should have completed your ASYE year (if you qualified after 2012).

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing support to Foster Carers in the Kinship Support Team.
• Undertake private fostering assessments and monitor private fostering arrangements.
• Help ensure private fostering arrangements meet the child’s needs with regular visits and reviews.
• Travel to provide support locally and nationally as required.
