Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership and communication skills to guide their team towards achieving sales and KPI targets while providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Store Manager in managing all store operations to meet or exceed sales and KPI targets, setting clear goals, and tracking performance.
  • Creating a positive team culture through recruitment, training, and development of staff, building a motivated and high-performing team.
  • Analyzing sales data and financial reports to make informed decisions and identify opportunities for operational and commercial improvements.
  • Acting as the point of contact in the Store Manager's absence.
  • Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints professionally.
  • Managing daily operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills.
  • Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Providing feedback and coaching to improve colleague performance.
  • Supporting the Store Manager in staff scheduling to ensure proper coverage and productivity.
Role Objectives and KPIs
  • Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store's monthly sales target.
  • Driving additional KPIs such as Units, Conversion, ATV, and UPT.
  • Achieving upselling and cross-selling targets.
  • Maintaining a high Net Promoter Score.
  • Ensuring stock accuracy during audits.
  • Completing mandatory training for new colleagues.
  • Meeting or exceeding employee satisfaction and engagement survey benchmarks.
  • Assisting in keeping operational costs within the budget.
Skills and Experience
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast-paced retail or customer-facing environment.
  • Passion for retail with a good understanding of current trends and competitors.
  • Experience in coaching and developing staff.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and KPIs.
  • Experience analyzing KPI data for commercial decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and commercial awareness; experience in visual merchandising is advantageous.
  • Ability to promote JD Group values internally and externally.
