Job summary

Silk Route Recruitment is seeking an experienced garment technologist for a Leicester-based, part-time role with hybrid working. You will own the fit sessions, develop tech packs, and manage amendments while supporting the design team on multi-product garments.

The position requires confidence in fitting with high street brands and the ability to prioritise tasks with agility, potentially transitioning to full-time in the long run.

Qualifications

• Experience as a garment technologist, ideally in kidswear/babywear.
• Experience in managing fit sessions.
• Ability to put together tech packs and handle amendments.
• Confident with prioritising tasks and meeting KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead fit sessions with high street customers and own the fitting process.
• Send clear, concise supplier comments and process samples quickly.
• Support the Design team on multi-product garment design.

Job description

Our client is multi-product supplier to the high street. They are now seeking an experienced garment technologist to join their team in Leicester. The business offers hybrid working.

The ideal candidate MUST have experience in managing fit sessions, putting together tech packs and amendments.

The Role

• Conduct fit sessions with high street customers such as NEXT, George/ASDA etc; making commercial decisions with confidence; owning the fitting process and inspiring trust and confidence from customers and vendors.
• Sending clear, concise and accurate comments to suppliers; processing samples in a timely and agile manner, in line with KPIs.
• Support the Design team on garment design - multi-products.

Skills And Experience

• Previous experience as a garment technologist ideally within kidswear/childrenswear/babywear
• Confident and assertive individual, with ability to manage their own fit sessions.
• Comprehensive understanding of fitting and fit issues is essential.
• Strong time-management skills; able to prioritise tasks and change direction with agility.
• Confident using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Keen to expand skill set as the role demands.

The role is initially part time 3 days a week, with hybrid working, potentially going full time long run.
