The Role

Francis Holland Preparatory School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and proactive professional to work as a Teacher in Key Stage Two (Maternity Cover). This opportunity is suitable for someone who wants to work as part of a dedicated team and has a passion for education.

The successful candidate will have experience in Key Stage Two, with QTS or relevant postgraduate training. This is a fixed-term position for the academic year 2025-2026, starting on 28th August 2025 and ending on 3rd July 2026, covering three academic terms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and deliver well-structured, high-quality lessons aligned with the school’s plans, curriculum, and schemes of work.
  2. Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge and support whole school initiatives.
  3. Set and assess work completed by students, including homework.
  4. Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  5. Set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
  6. Promote progress and positive outcomes for students.
  7. Meet the expectations outlined in the Teachers’ Standards.
  8. Create an effective learning environment in the classroom and communal areas.
  9. Collaborate with Specialist Teachers and Teaching Assistants.
  10. Maintain regular communication with parents to foster positive relationships.
  11. Contribute to the school's marketing efforts through newsletters, magazines, the website, and school events.
  12. Manage and promote the class Parent Portal.
  13. Organise an annual Class Assembly.
  14. Attend school assemblies and church services.
  15. Provide lesson plans for cover in case of absence.

First-stage interviews will be conducted online later that week, with final stage interviews in person during the week commencing 12th May 2025.
