Job summary

Kauai, part of Virgin Active, is seeking a Supervisor to join our Nottingham café team and help drive daily operations, shifts, and exceptional service for our members. You’ll coach team members, uphold food safety and quality standards, manage stock, and collaborate with the Store Manager to deliver a seamless member experience while maintaining a welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Food Safety Level 3 qualification required.
• Food Allergy and Intolerance training required.
• Supervisory experience in hospitality, food service or retail preferred.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day running of the café, leading shifts and ensuring smooth operations.
• Coach and support Team Members to deliver exceptional customer service and food quality.
• Ensure brand, food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
• Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.
• Monitor stock levels, complete ordering and support stock control processes.
• Resolve customer queries professionally and support the team during busy trading periods.
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members while reinforcing operational standards.
• Maintain accurate operational records, food safety documentation and daily checklists.
• Work collaboratively with the Virgin Active team to deliver a seamless member experience.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving operational and commercial objectives.

In this role, you will play a part in supporting the day-to-day operation of the café, leading shifts, coaching the team and ensuring outstanding food quality, service and operational standards. Working alongside the Store Manager, you’ll help create a welcoming environment for members while driving excellent customer service, food safety and team performance.

Who We’re Looking For

• Food Safety Level 3 qualification.
• Food Allergy and Intolerance Training.
• Previous supervisory experience within hospitality, food service or retail is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Flexible approach to working early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Pay Range

£14.87—£14.87 GBP
