Job summary

Kauai in Northampton is seeking a Supervisor to lead the café team and oversee daily operations at the wellness-focused venue. You will coach staff, ensure food quality and safety, and maintain high service standards while delivering a welcoming environment for members.

Working with the Store Manager, you’ll drive performance, manage stock and onboarding, and uphold hygiene and presentation standards across all shifts.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in hospitality, food service or retail.
• Strong leadership to motivate and support a team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a part in supporting the day-to-day operation of the café, leading shifts, coaching the team and ensuring outstanding food quality, service and operational standards. Working alongside the Store Manager, you'll help create a welcoming environment for members while driving excellent customer service, food safety and team performance.

The Role

• Support the day-to-day running of the café, leading shifts and ensuring smooth operations.


• Coach and support Team Members to deliver exceptional customer service and food quality.


• Ensure brand, food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.


• Oversee food and beverage preparation, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met.

• Resolve customer queries professionally and support the team during busy trading periods.


• Assist with onboarding and training new team members while reinforcing operational standards.


• Maintain accurate operational records, food safety documentation and daily checklists.


• Work collaboratively with the Virgin Active team to deliver a seamless member experience.


• Support the Store Manager in achieving operational and commercial objectives.

Who We’re Looking For

• Food Allergy and Intolerance Training.


• Previous supervisory experience within hospitality, food service or retail is preferred.


• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support a team.
