Job Summary

As a Kanban Coordinator, you will manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) systems at customer sites, ensuring a continuous supply of products to support uninterrupted operations. The role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships, delivering excellent service, and driving operational excellence through effective inventory management and communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage part availability on site, ensuring on-time delivery and uninterrupted production by maintaining stock levels and preventing line stoppages.
  • Build strong customer relationships, meet customer requirements, resolve issues, and communicate changing demand forecasts to internal teams.
  • Conduct regular customer reviews and provide feedback to branch sales, purchasing, and operations teams.
  • Maintain Kanban systems, including record updates, label printing, and processing amendments in line with company procedures.
  • Monitor key performance metrics, including OTD, shortages, quality issues, and rejects, while promoting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of site equipment, Kanban racks, and bins.
  • Adhere to company and customer health, safety, housekeeping, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation and work closely with office, warehouse, and operational teams to support a smooth and efficient operation.
Requirements
  • Experience in Kanban, VMI, inventory control, supply chain, logistics, or customer service, preferably within the fasteners, manufacturing, or automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of stock management and replenishment processes.
  • Ability to maintain product availability and prevent production line stoppages.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Experience resolving delivery, stock, and quality-related issues.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office; ERP/MRP system experience is desirable.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
