Job summary

EquipNet is seeking a reliable Junior Warehouse Operative for our Bridgend warehouse. This hands-on role combines crating, packaging, and basic computer administration with full training provided.

You will prepare equipment for shipment, build crates, and manage inventory records while adhering to health and safety standards. The position offers a competitive salary (£25,000–£30,000), 30 days holiday (38 with length of service), a 5% employer pension contribution, and Monday–Friday working hours

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy with Windows, spreadsheets and data entry.
• Willingness to learn woodworking and power tools safely.
• Good numerical and measurement skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to safely handle and move timber and packaging materials with adjustments where appropriate.
• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent desirable.
• Forklift qualification or experience desirable but training may be provided.
• Candidate must be able to reliably commute to Bridgend facility.

Responsibilities

• Crating and packaging: cut timber, build crates, pack and protect equipment for shipment, perform quality checks.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and load/unload vehicles after appropriate training and authorization.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and follow health and safety procedures.
• Enter stock information, shipping details and job progress into company systems.
• Produce packing lists, barcodes and shipping labels; review drawings and specs.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Junior Warehouse Operative to join our team at our Bridgend warehouse.

This is a hands-on role involving the preparation, crating and packaging of equipment for shipment. The role combines practical warehouse and crating work with digital inventory tracking, label printing and basic computer administration. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Crating and Packaging

• Cut timber and sheet materials using hand and power tools safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Build bespoke wooden crates, boxes and pallets to specified dimensions.
• Pack, secure and protect fragile or heavy equipment using appropriate materials and methods.
• Carry out quality checks on completed packaging to ensure items are securely prepared for shipment.
• Operate a forklift truck to move materials and load/unload vehicles, following appropriate training and authorisation.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.

Computer and Administrative Duties

• Enter stock information, job progress and shipping details into company systems.
• Use computer systems to produce packing lists, barcodes and shipping labels.
• Review digital drawings, cut sheets and technical job specifications.
• Update inventory records and work orders accurately.
• Respond to routine internal emails and communicate with colleagues regarding warehouse and shipping activities.

Skills and Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Windows, spreadsheets and data entry.
• Willingness to learn how to safely use woodworking and power tools.
• Good numerical and measurement skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to safely handle and move timber, packaging materials and equipment, with reasonable adjustments considered where appropriate.
• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualifications are desirable.
• A forklift qualification or previous experience operating a forklift is desirable but not essential, as training may be provided.
• Candidates must be able to reliably commute to our Bridgend facility.

Experience

• Previous warehouse, crating, carpentry, packing or logistics experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Full training will be provided.
• We welcome candidates who demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and develop their skills.
