Job description

Launch your career at the heart of banking.

Interested in financial markets, data, technology and how banks make strategic decisions? Join Cynergy Bank as a Junior Treasury & ALM Analyst and gain hands‑on experience across liquidity management, funding strategy, balance sheet management, interest rate risk and Treasury analytics. This is a rare opportunity to join a modern Treasury function where you'll learn directly from experienced professionals, work with data and automation tools, and develop skills that can open doors to careers in Treasury, ALM, Financial Risk and Banking.

What's the Opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or early‑career professional to join the Treasury team at one of the UK's leading challenger banks.

You'll gain practical exposure across Treasury operations, liquidity reporting, balance sheet management, funding, financial risk analysis and process automation while working alongside experienced Treasury professionals. Your work will support key business decisions, regulatory obligations and the Bank's funding and liquidity strategies.

We are not looking for a Treasury expert. We're looking for someone with strong analytical ability, curiosity, attention to detail and a passion for learning. Whether you've recently graduated or have some experience working with data and analysis, this role offers an outstanding platform to build a long‑term career within banking and financial services.

Where You Will Work

You will enjoy hybrid working, spending 3 days in our Central London office and 2 days working from home, giving you the flexibility to collaborate, learn from colleagues and build your career while maintaining a healthy work‑life balance.

Why Join Us?

We know the best people want more than just a job. At Cynergy Bank you'll find:

  • Career Development: Build specialist skills across Treasury, ALM, liquidity management, funding and financial risk.

  • Learning Opportunities: Work directly with experienced Treasury professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.

  • Innovation: Help shape Treasury's increasing use of data, automation and analytics.

  • Meaningful Impact: Contribute to the financial resilience and strategic decision‑making of the Bank.

  • Growth: Join a culture that encourages curiosity, continuous improvement and professional development.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Support daily Treasury activities, including liquidity management, funding and operational processes.

  • Produce, validate and analyse Treasury reports, ensuring accuracy and strong controls.

  • Monitor market developments, interest rates and economic trends, providing insight to the Treasury team.

  • Support Treasury and ALM reporting, reconciliations and management information preparation.

  • Assist with the development of dashboards, reporting tools and analytical outputs.

  • Help identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency.

  • Maintain documentation, controls and audit‑ready evidence to support Treasury governance.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Treasury, Finance and Operations.

What You Will Bring

We value potential as much as experience.

You may be a recent graduate, an analyst early in your career, or someone looking to build a career in Treasury and banking.

You'll have:

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Computer Science or a related field.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with confidence working with data.

  • Experience using Excel and an appetite to further develop your analytical skills.

  • Exposure to tools such as Power BI, Power Query, SQL, Python, VBA or similar technologies.

  • An interest in financial markets, banking, Treasury, liquidity management or financial risk.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem‑solving.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive, collaborative mindset and willingness to learn.
