Job summary

ALTEN in Bristol is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support aerospace projects. You will contribute to requirements capture, analysis, and management, and assist with hydraulic systems integration within a highly regulated environment.

You will work with experienced engineers across the lifecycle, gaining exposure to validation and verification activities, documentation, and design reviews, while developing your MBSE and tools proficiency in a hybrid on-site role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
• Experience gained through industry placements, internships, graduate programmes, or early‑career engineering roles.
• Understanding of the engineering development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with technical documentation and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyse, and manage system requirements across the project lifecycle.
• Assist with integration and maintenance of requirements management tools.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to define and trace requirements.
• Support development and integration of hydraulic systems in aerospace programmes.
• Contribute to verification and validation activities.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, reports, and specifications.
• Support design reviews and technical meetings with stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, processes, and quality requirements.
