Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to join the Bristol team, developing expertise in aerospace systems engineering within a highly regulated environment. You will support requirements management, hydraulic system development, and lifecycle activities from capture to verification.

You will work with experienced engineers to gain exposure to lifecycle processes, documentation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, contributing to compliant engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience through placements, internships or graduate programmes is welcomed.
• Understanding of the engineering development lifecycle and MBSE concepts.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyse, and manage system requirements across the project lifecycle.
• Support integration and maintenance of requirements management tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and trace requirements.
• Aid development and integration of hydraulic systems within aerospace programmes.
• Assist verification and validation activities and prepare engineering docs.
