Job Description: Midas VFX is seeking a Junior System Administrator to support our IT operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the systems that keep our studio running smoothly. Experience in the VFX industry is a plus, but not mandatory. This role is perfect for someone looking to grow their IT skills in a creative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network devices.
• Monitor system performance and ensure the stability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure.
• Provide technical support to the team, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Perform routine backups and data recovery processes.
• Support the deployment and management of VFX software and tools, ensuring compatibility with the existing infrastructure.
• Collaborate with the senior IT team to implement security protocols and maintain system integrity.
• Keep documentation of IT processes, configurations, and network architecture up to date.
• Assist with the setup and maintenance of render farms and other VFX-specific infrastructure.
• Stay informed about new technologies and best practices to help improve the efficiency of our systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic knowledge of server and network management, including Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and security practices.
• Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to IT support.
• Experience with VFX software and tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke) is a plus but not required.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, creative environment.
