Job summary

Kidde Global Solutions is seeking a Junior Sustaining Engineer to minimise product downtime and troubleshoot engineering issues across manufacturing and engineering environments. You will work with engineers, operators, and quality personnel to sustain products while ensuring safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes autonomously driving improvements, analysing circuits, and implementing corrective actions to optimise performance and reduce downtime across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent are required.

Responsibilities

• Strong ability to work autonomously, take ownership of tasks, and collaborate effectively with colleagues across engineering, production and quality functions.
• Understanding of conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
• Understanding electronic circuits and ability to review electronic component datasheets.
• Analysing electronic circuit design and identifying key characteristics to find suitable alternative components.
• Finding cost saving opportunities through circuit or component replacement and process improvement.
• Conducting product and component factory release notes.

About this role

The Junior Sustaining Engineer plays a key role in minimising product downtime, troubleshooting technical issues, resolving component life cycle issues and driving continuous improvement and productivity activities within both the manufacturing and engineering environment. Working with engineers, operators, and quality personnel, the technician helps sustain products while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
