Job summary

AWE offers a graduate placement at Aldermaston for students in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or related disciplines. You will help deliver the Sustainability Strategy and Climate Transition Plan, and work with project teams to embed sustainable practices in planning and delivery, gaining practical insight across climate resilience and biodiversity.

This onsite role operates on a 9-day fortnight with every second Friday off.

Qualifications

Entry requirement: Sustainability, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography or a related discipline; on track for a 2:2 by Aug 2027.
Security clearance: UK national, UK passport, have lived in the UK for the past 10 years and be willing and able to obtain and maintain DV security clearance.
Working pattern: 9-day fortnight onsite at Aldermaston, with every second Friday off.

Responsibilities

Support delivery of AWE's Sustainability Strategy and Climate Transition Plan.
Help project and operational teams embed sustainability into planning, decision-making and delivery.
Contribute to initiatives that support climate resilience, carbon reduction and biodiversity.
Assist with performance reporting and monitoring of sustainability indicators.
Identify opportunities to create positive outcomes for people, communities and the wider environment.
Gain experience of Environmental Management System and regulatory frameworks.
