Job summary

GAUCHO Liverpool is seeking an experienced and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen. You will bring leadership to a fast-paced fresh food environment, deliver high quality dishes, follow specs, and develop the team under the guidance of the Head and Sous Chefs.

Ideal candidates have previous Junior Sous Chef experience in a high-pressure setting, a drive for excellence in fresh produce, and a collaborative approach to running a successful kitchen.

Qualifications

• Experience as Junior Sous Chef in a high-pressure kitchen.
• Passion for fresh produce and great food.
• Strong leadership and operator ability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in daily kitchen operations.
• Ensure cleaning duties are carried out as directed by senior chefs.
• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef to maximise yield and control wastage.
• Liaise with suppliers on kitchen operations and deliveries.
• Check inbound food quality and consistency for kitchen use.
• Mentor and train new hourly kitchen staff.
• Assist with recruitment, training and appraisals of the team.
• Follow health and safety practices and manage GP, stock and portion control.
• Ensure daily staff meals are nutritious and well received.
