At Farmer, Butcher, Chef, our celebrated 2 AA Rosetterestaurant nestled within The Goodwood Hotel, we offer a rareopportunity for a talented Junior Sous Chef to joinour dedicated brigade. As Junior Sous Chef, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering anexceptional dining experience. Supporting our Head Chef and SeniorSous, you’ll lead by example, ensuring that our high standards neverslip and that each dish reflects the care, craft, and creativity wepride ourselves on.
Working with outstanding organic ingredients from our own Home Farm,including award-winning meat, cheese, and seasonal produce, you’ll beresponsible for:
Assisting in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Leading and mentoring junior team members, especially during service
Managing kitchen operations in the absence of senior chefs
Upholding food quality, hygiene, and presentation standards
Collaborating with our butchers and cheesemakers to craftinnovative, waste-free menus
Contributing ideas for seasonal specials and menu development
This is a kitchen where sustainability, creativity, and heritage cometogether. Our butcher works directly with the kitchen team toinfluence dishes based on the cuts available, ensuring every part ofthe animal is respected and utilised. It's an environment wherelearning never stops, and your voice matters.
We’re looking for a chef with:
Proven experience at Junior Sous level or ready to step into the role
A passion for fresh, local, and sustainable cooking
Experience in high-quality restaurants or hotels
Strong leadership and communication skills
A proactive and collaborative approach to team development
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to stay calm under pressure
Above all, you’ll bring energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine love forgood food.
