Job Description

Gaucho is looking for an experienced and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join one of our London restaurants! You should have experience working as a Junior Sous Chef in a fresh food kitchen and be extremely passionate about food. The Junior Sous Chef will have experience managing a team, running the kitchen, and working in a fast-paced environment. They must be able to deliver high-quality dishes following a spec and have a genuine passion for cooking.

Key Responsibilities of the Junior Sous Chef:

1. Possess strong operational and leadership skills regarding knowledge and operation.
2. Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties are carried out as instructed by senior chefs.
3. Help maintain maximum yield in the kitchen concerning gross profit and wastage.
4. Deal with suppliers and commercial partners regarding kitchen operations, as set and agreed by the Head Chef & Senior Sous Chef.
5. Check all inbound food deliveries to ensure consistency and quality of all items delivered for the kitchen operation.
6. Assist the Head Chef with specials planning, costing, daily GP% financial sheets, payroll, and all kitchen operations.
7. Ensure all health and safety practices are followed and participate in controlling stock and portion control.
