Job summary

Caravan Covent Garden is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team in London. You will help deliver our well-travelled cuisine, inspired by our founders’ New Zealand roots and global travels, while supporting the restaurant team and guest experience.

You’ll work with the Senior Sous Chef to nurture your team, take ownership of your role, and learn new skills. Experience with Fourth, FnB and Harri is desirable; training can be provided.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience at sous chef level or similar.
• Ability to lead and support a team during service.
• Willingness to learn and develop skills and knowledge.
• Experience with Fourth, FnB and Harri is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve the well-travelled dishes inspired by the founders’ New Zealand roots and global travels.
• Support the restaurant team with the Caravan of Love customer experience.
• Work with the Senior Sous Chef to mentor and develop the team during every service.
• Be proactive in learning and taking ownership of your role and kitchen.

Up to £19.00 per hour dependent on experience.

What you'll be doing as a Caravan Junior Sous Chef:

• You’ll be serving up our ‘well-travelled’ food, which is inspired by flavours from our founders’ native New Zealand, as well as their global travels.
• Support the restaurant team with our ‘Caravan of Love’ customer experience
• You will work with your Senior Sous Chef to nurture and develop your team leading them from the front in every service.
• You will be open to learning in order to develop your knowledge and skills and you’ll take ownership of your role and your kitchen.
• We work with Fourth, FnB and Harri so it would be great if you have experience with these systems, although we can always show you the ropes if you haven’t.
