Job summary

BrickRed Systems is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer in Reading to join an experienced development team. You will work on enterprise applications using C# and .NET, contribute to APIs, and grow your technical skills in a collaborative environment.

You will be mentored by senior developers, participate in Agile sprints, and write clean, testable code while gaining exposure to Azure and SQL databases. This is an excellent early-career opportunity.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of software development experience.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Software Engineer with a good foundation in C# and .NET development. The candidate will work alongside experienced developers to build, maintain, test, and enhance software applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications using C# and .NET.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following development standards.
• Assist in developing and maintaining APIs and backend services.

• Work with databases and perform basic SQL queries.
• Collaborate with senior developers, testers, and other team members.

Required Skills & Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in software development.
• Good foundation in C# programming.

• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Basic knowledge of REST APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and basic SQL queries.
• Understanding of software development and testing principles.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Basic exposure to Microsoft Azure is an advantage.
• Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Exposure to enterprise application development.
