Job summary

Randstad CPE seeks a Junior Site Engineer to join a long-term RAF civil engineering project near Thetford, Norfolk. You will assist with setting out, QA and site records, gaining hands-on experience across heavy groundworks, drainage, pavement and civils packages.

The role requires 1–2+ years’ UK experience as a Junior/Assistant Engineer, CSCS card, and a Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/degree). BPSS security clearance is required; start is immediate.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years’ hands-on experience as a Junior or Assistant Engineer on UK civil engineering projects.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency with GPS/Total Station instruments and CAT & Genny service location.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
• Valid CSCS Card.

Responsibilities

• Setting Out & Surveying: assist with daily setting out, topographical checks and site surveying using GPS/Total Station equipment.
• Quality Assurance (QA): help compile ITPs, track non-conformances and maintain digital site diaries.
• Permits & Service Avoidance: assist in preparing Permits to Dig and perform service checks with CAT & Genny.
• Sub-Contractor & Site Liaison: support front-line supervision and monitor daily progress outputs.
