As a Junior Engineer in the Civils Division at Farrans Construction, you will support the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. Your responsibilities include assisting with site surveys, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. You will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to infrastructure project success. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving approach are essential.

Project Outline

Farrans is undertaking a significant infrastructure project in Northern Ireland, focusing on enhancing the Northern Irish Water system to improve water quality and supply reliability, ensuring sustainable water services for the community.

Responsibilities

• Undertake surveys and set-out on site
• Prepare drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance
• Monitor construction progress to meet deadlines
• Liaise with clients and carry out site investigations
• Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and other parties to ensure specifications are met
• Liaise with quantity surveyors regarding material ordering and pricing
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sustainability policies and legislation

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, HNC, or HND in Engineering/Construction
• 1-3 years of industry experience
• Full UK manual driving license
• Passion for a career in civils/construction
• High attention to detail, meticulous planning, and organizational skills
