This position is a 29-month fixed-term contract, with the actual duration adjusted based on the hiring process and pre-employment checks. The contract begins upon the start date and may be slightly shorter than 29 months.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Nurse to join the new Alcohol Care Team at Newham Hospital. You will contribute to providing comprehensive treatment for adult patients with alcohol use disorders and dependence.

Main duties of the job

  1. Assess, plan, and implement care for alcohol-dependent patients with complex needs, escalating to senior staff as necessary.
  2. Identify high-risk patients using the AUDIT assessment and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team for appropriate action.
  3. Deliver evidence-based interventions, including motivational interviewing and withdrawal management.
  4. Educate patients and families about healthy lifestyles and risk management.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records, ensuring compliance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
