Ward 84 is a busy 29 bedded ward specialising in Secondary Medical and Gastroenterology

The post holder will assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of patient care in a caring, compassionate and sensitive manner. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to
the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students.
The post holder will take delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical team and the maintenance of high standards of quality patient care on a shift basis.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will work alongside the Ward Manager and Practice Educator with a particular focus on:

Bedside training and education for staff, patients and carers.

Supporting junior staff with their workloads and the coordinating of shifts.

Leadership and professional role modelling through complex communication, challenging practice and celebrating achievement as is it occurs.

Supporting the Ward Manager to ensure quality, safety and patient experience.

We will provide a comprehensive induction and the role will allow you to develop varied clinical and interpersonal skills. We also offer extensive PDP opportunities.
