Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a Junior Shopify Developer in Manchester to join our digital team and build bespoke Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts. You’ll work with designers and project managers across multiple projects, translating Figma designs into responsive, high-quality storefronts.

In this role you’ll develop themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, optimise performance, and assist with migrations from other platforms.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience developing Shopify stores.
• Experience building bespoke Shopify storefronts, not just configuring off-the-shelf themes and apps.
• Moderate skills in Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Comfortable translating Figma designs into responsive builds.
• Good understanding of web performance, accessibility and cross-browser compatibility.

Responsibilities

Junior Shopify Developer - Up to £45k - Manchester
We’re looking for a Junior Shopify Developer to join a digital team delivering high-quality, bespoke ecommerce experiences.
You’ll be hands‑on in building, customising and maintaining Shopify and Shopify Plus storefronts, working closely with designers and project managers across a range of projects.

The Role

Develop bespoke Shopify and Shopify Plus themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Build responsive, accurate storefronts from Figma designs.
Optimise performance, page speed and Core Web Vitals.
Troubleshoot issues across themes, apps and third‑party integrations.
Support migrations from other ecommerce platforms onto Shopify.
Contribute to technical scoping and estimates for new and ongoing projects.
Test across browsers and devices to ensure high‑quality, regression‑free releases.
Stay up to date with Shopify updates, APIs and best practices.

What Were Looking For

1+ years experience developing Shopify stores, with a strong focus on theme development.
Experience building bespoke Shopify storefronts, not just configuring off‑the‑shelf themes and apps.
Moderate skills in Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
