Searchability® in Plymouth, England, is seeking a Junior Shopify Developer to join our on-site team alongside the CTO. You will help develop and maintain a growing Shopify ecommerce platform, while expanding your skills across themes, integrations, and new functionality.

The role is junior but requires practical web development experience and a solid grasp of Shopify, Liquid, JavaScript, HTML and CSS. You will work across Shopify themes, apps and integrations and gain ownership as you progress.

Qualifications

Hands-on Shopify development experience.
Experience with Shopify Liquid.
Strong JavaScript, HTML and CSS fundamentals.
Experience with Shopify theme development or customization.
Proficient in Git / version control.
Ability to learn independently in a fast-moving environment.
Onsite work in Plymouth 5 days per week.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the company's Shopify ecommerce platform.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS

We're working with a rapidly growing ecommerce business.

The company has experienced significant growth over the last 12–18 months and is now making a major investment into its internal technology capability.

Technology is becoming increasingly central to the business, with a substantial pipeline of e-commerce improvements, new applications, integrations and internal systems planned.

They are now building an internal development team around their CTO, creating an opportunity to join at an early stage and develop your career as the technology function grows.

THE ROLE

They're looking for a Junior Shopify Developer to join their team in Plymouth.

You’ll work directly alongside the CTO, helping develop and maintain an established Shopify ecommerce platform while gaining exposure to a wide range of new technical projects.

This is a junior position, but they’re looking for someone who already has practical development experience and a good understanding of the fundamentals of building for the web.

You’ll work across Shopify development, themes, new functionality and integrations while developing your technical skills and taking on increasing ownership as you progress.

The immediate focus will be Shopify development, but as the internal engineering team grows there will be opportunities to gain experience across broader applications, integrations and bespoke internal software.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain the company's Shopify ecommerce platform

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

Practical Shopify development experience
Experience working with Shopify Liquid
JavaScript

Comfortable working in a fast-moving development environment
