Job summary

ITV is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security engineer to design, build, operate and maintain the in-house services the Cyber Security team provides to the business, as well as supporting the deployment of commercial tooling.

The role requires working with cloud-native architectures, infrastructure-as-code, and AWS-based event-driven solutions. The candidate should autonomously identify risks and propose mitigations while aligning with ITV’s collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• Understanding of cloud native applications and IaC.
• Basic understanding of security controls (IAM) within cloud environments.
• Knowledge of common security weaknesses and mitigations within modern applications.
• Ability to pragmatically suggest security controls.
• Good personal communications style in line with ITV’s culture.

The role

This is a hands-on role working with the latest technologies to help design, build, operate and maintain the in-house developed services the Cyber Security team provide to the business, as well as supporting the implementation of commercial tooling.

Skills you’ll need(minimum criteria)

• Understanding of cloud native applications best practices such as using infrastructure-as-code.
• Basic understanding of security controls (e.g. IAM) within cloud environments
• Knowledge of common security weaknesses and associated mitigations within modern applications
• Ability to pragmatically suggest security controls
• Good personal communications style in line with ITV’s culture
• Work autonomously and in a team, be inquisitive and demonstrate initiative in identifying and resolving problems across the business

Other things we’re looking for(key criteria)

• Using programming languages to develop serverless functions to interact with security services
• Creating event-driven architectures within AWS using infrastructure-as-code tooling
• Responding to notifications of system failure to identify and remediate issues for Security Engineering’s developed services
• Integration commercial security tooling into ITV’s technology estate
• Proactively identifying risks to our cloud environments and implementing mitigations
• Identifying and suggesting security improvements that can be made to technologies, processes, and new initiatives
• Feeding into the plan and strategy for delivering cyber awareness training and cyber events across ITV
