An innovative life sciences company is looking for an Junior Scientist with a background in molecular biology to join its growing R&D team. This hands‑on role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of molecular diagnostics and sample preparation technologies, with support and mentorship from experienced scientists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and optimising nucleic acid extraction methods for various sample types
  • Support the design and testing of LAMP-based assays for point‑of‑care applications
  • Carry out laboratory experiments under guidance and maintain accurate records of results
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, and master mixes for research and product development
  • Contribute to lab organisation and quality control activities
  • Participate in team meetings and share experimental findings
Requirements
  • BSc in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related life sciences field
  • Some practical experience in molecular techniques such as PCR or nucleic acid extraction (through academic projects, internships, or industry placements)
  • Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic, fast‑paced laboratory environment
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to follow protocols accurately and work as part of a team
Desirable Experience
  • Hands‑on experience with LAMP, qPCR, or sequencing methods
  • Previous exposure to diagnostics, infectious disease, or regulated lab environments
  • Familiarity with lab safety practices and CL2 procedures
