Job description

Job Title: Junior Science Technician

Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking to appoint a Junior Science Technician to manage practical requests and lead the preparation, delivery, collection, and tidying away of Junior Science practical work. The role covers:

1. Lower First Form (Year 6)
2. First Form (Year 7) Biology and Chemistry
3. Second Form (Year 8) Biology and Chemistry

The technician will provide technical support for all activities in these areas and assist in other Science areas when capacity allows. The role involves working as part of a team to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient use of resources supporting the science curriculum.

Management and Salary

The position is line managed by the Lead Technician, with day-to-day responsibilities overseen by the Lead Physics Technician.

The salary range is Point 26-28 on the Whitgift Foundation Support Staff Salary Scale. The full-time salary ranges from £39,201 to £41,631 gross per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The pro-rata salary reflects Term Time only, ranging from £31,360 to £33,304.80 gross per annum.
