Hitachi Rail UK Limited in London is seeking a Junior Materials and Technology Engineer to join our team. You will work across materials engineering and special manufacturing processes, supporting bonding, painting and corrosion-protection activities within a fast-paced railway project environment.

This early-career role offers exposure to international projects, DOORS-based requirements management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English (B2 or higher).
• Experience on railway vehicle projects in materials/special-process roles.
• Knowledge of bonding, painting and corrosion-protection processes.
• Understanding of materials and special-process documentation and requirements management.

Responsabilités

• Support management of materials and special-process requirements using DOORS.
• Manage technical documentation for materials and special processes.
• Provide input on bonding, painting and corrosion-protection activities.
• Collaborate with internal/external project teams across domains.
• Coordinate resources for materials and special-process activities.
• Help ensure deliverables meet requirements and timelines.
• Travel occasionally for domestic/international work.
