Job summary

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team in Brackley, UK, is seeking a Junior Race Team Support Technician to help maintain and develop pit equipment, supporting the Race Team Project Coordinator. You will contribute to enhancing vehicle performance and end-user efficiency.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in composites, fabrication and machining, ability to read engineering drawings, and teamwork. Some travel to race events may be required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in composite fitting, fabricating and machining.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Welding experience is advantageous.
  • Strong IT and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting all other members of the Race Team with composites, fabrication and machining of new and existing pit equipment related projects.
  • Assisting with the build and servicing of pit equipment assemblies.
  • Machining of small new components and modifying existing pit equipment assemblies.
  • Proactively maintain the good quality of components and continuously look for opportunities of improvement and innovation on current processes.
  • Actively assisting with day to day factory based Race Team activities.
  • Some travel to race events may be required.

The Role

Brackley, UKWe have an exciting opening for a Junior Race Team Support Technician to join our factory-based Race Team Department reporting directly to the Race Team Project Coordinator. To maintain and develop all travelling pit equipment, with a key focus on maximising vehicle performance and improving end user efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting all other members of the Race Team with composites, fabrication and machining of new and existing pit equipment related projects.Assisting with the build and servicing of pit equipment assemblies.Machining of small new components and modifying existing pit equipment assembliesProactively maintain the good quality of components and continuously look for opportunities of improvement and innovation on current processesActively assisting with day to day factory based Race Team activitiesSome travel to race events may be required

About You

An enthusiastic individual eager to learn on the job and have a high attention to detail with a can do attitude.Must have proven experience in composite fitting, fabricating and machining skills to a high standardHave the ability to interpret engineering drawingsWelding experience would be an advantage but not essential.Demonstrable experience working both independently and within a highly collaborative team.Good inter-personal skills and an effective communicator with the ability to manage workload and timescales to meet strict deadlines.Proficient knowledge in Microsoft office and I.T would be an advantage
