Job summary

Proactive IT Appointments represents a leading organisation based in Exeter seeking a Junior Python Developer. This role targets a candidate with 2-5 years experience to build features, fix bugs, and reduce technical debt across web and mobile products.

You will assist the Engineering Manager, manage Jira Kanban boards, and help ensure pre-production release health and smooth production deployments in a flexible hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years hands-on coding experience in software engineering or web development.
• Proficiency in Python and/or PHP, SQL databases, and Git workflows.
• Experience releasing to web/mobile with Docker and Kanban/Jira.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain code for web and mobile features.
• Address backlog items and improve release health and quality.
• Assist Engineering Manager to drive flow, manage Jira Kanban boards, and coordinate releases.
