Job summary

Shadow Robot Company in London is hiring a Junior Project Manager for a six-month fixed term to support a senior project leader in a complex robotics R&D environment.

Fancy your first real step into project management at a world-leading robotics company?

Would a 6-month fixed term with potential for a permanent role suit you right now?

Shadow Robot builds some of the most advanced dexterous robotic hands in the world - and we're looking for a Junior Project Manager to join us for an important six-month stretch while we do the groundwork before our next big technical strands kick off.

This isn't a make-the-coffee-and-update-the-spreadsheet junior role.

You'll be trusted with real sub-tasks and low-risk sub-projects, working closely with a senior project leader who'll guide you on how project management actually works inside a complex, technical R&D environment.

We're a small team working at a lower technology readiness level, so our projects are genuinely less scripted than they'd be somewhere bigger and more established. This is less about following a fixed process and more about solving problems as they come up and keeping everyone's focus on the milestones that matter.

What you'll be doing as our new Junior Project Manager

• Keeping project timelines, plans, dashboards and status updates on track and accurate
• Coordinating meetings, taking notes, and communicating clearly with the team and stakeholders
• Creating and maintaining project documentation, logs and reports
• Spotting small issues before they become big ones
• Owning smaller sub-tasks and low-risk sub-projects, under supervision

What we're looking for

• Some project support experience already under your belt - whether from a larger organisation (think project planner or PMO coordinator) or a scrappy startup where you learned fast
• Sharp organisational skills and clear, confident communication - especially when the path ahead isn't fully mapped out
• Comfortable with tools like Google Workspace (Docs, Slides and Sheets are a must), and know how to use (or be quick to learn) MS Project, Jira and Confluence
• Genuine excitement about robotics and technical R&D - we'd rather hire someone fired up about what we're building than someone who ticks the box on a formal PM certification.

Salary range: £37,500 to £42,500 depending on your experience

Based: 100% in the Product Dev Team based at Gospel Oak, London HQ (2 mins from the London Overground station)
