Job summary

New Appointments Group in Folkestone is seeking a Junior Project Engineer to support planning and delivery of engineering and product development projects within a multidisciplinary team. • Some CAD/design experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and ability to work with multiple departments.

Junior Project Engineer

Location: Folkestone Hybrid working

We are looking for a Junior Project Engineer to join an established engineering and R&D team, supporting the delivery of product development and manufacturing projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanical engineering graduate or early-career engineer looking to develop their career within project engineering.

The Role

• Support the planning and delivery of engineering and product development projects.
• Coordinate activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement and Supply Chain.
• Assist with mechanical design, product development, prototyping and testing.
• Support project schedules, documentation, actions and progress reporting.
• Assist with engineering changes and the transition of products into production.
• Help identify and escape project risks, issues and technical challenges.

About You

• Degree/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Some experience with CAD/design would be advantageous.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Proactive, practical and keen to develop a career in project engineering.
