Job summary

SiXworks is seeking a Junior Project Accountant to support our defence and national security projects from our Farnborough base. You’ll work with cross-functional teams and vendors to assist in forecasting, budgets and reporting, while solving problems that impact delivery and client outcomes.

You will contribute to project governance, financial tracking and continuous improvement, operating within a secure environment that values initiative and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills to manage, process and report from large data sets.
• Delivery-focused with ability to provide value through iterative delivery.
• Excellent communication, listening and concise written & verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project delivery including forecasting, change management and risk management.

We’re looking for a Junior Project Accountant who enjoys solving difficult challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.

What You’ll Do

As a Junior Project Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in shaping some of our exciting projects where everyone has a voice, and together we face our clients' problems head-on. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and business resources to ensure successful project delivery.

Your work may include:

• Project management- The ability to assist in key aspects of project delivery, including forecasting, change management and risk management.
• Assist the production of deliverables from cross-functional teams, vendors, and business resources.
• Foster open communication across teams to identify cross-team development dependencies and risks early on.
• Work with project managers to manage project finances.
• Problem solving- The ability to identify problems collaboratively and develop actions/solutions, communicating both to key stakeholders and presenting information through reports, dashboards and slides as appropriate.
• Commercial awareness- Assist in providing contract management, supplier management.
• Market experience working within the UK Defence & Security sector is advantageous.
