Job summary

Recognise Bank is seeking a Junior Portfolio Manager in the UK to support the management, servicing, and monitoring of the loan portfolio. You will work with the Portfolio Management team to deliver excellent customer outcomes while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.

You will be responsible for day-to-day loan book management, arrears handling, annual reviews, maturities, extensions, and covenant testing, with collaboration across Credit, Operations and Risk to meet SLAs

Qualifications

  • Managing loan portfolios and customer relationships.
  • Handling arrears and collections activity.
  • Experience within bridging finance or similar lending products.
  • Managing loan lifecycle events such as maturities, extensions and redemption.
  • Experience using loan management systems (e.g. nCino).
  • Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
  • Financial analysis and interpretation.
  • Understanding of lending regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Payments and collections understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain an assigned portfolio of loan accounts with accurate servicing.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure loan terms are met.
  • Perform covenant testing and flag risks.
  • Conduct annual loan reviews with customer information.
  • Manage maturities, extensions, renewals, and redemptions.
  • Support loan restructures and changes to facilities.
  • Monitor arrears and support positive outcomes with customers.
  • Coordinate payments across systems for accurate allocation.
  • Build strong customer relationships through regular contact.
  • Collaborate with Credit, New Business, Legal, Operations, and Risk teams.

About the role

As a Junior Portfolio Manager, you will support the effective management, servicing, and monitoring of the loan portfolio. Working closely with the wider Portfolio Management team, you will help deliver excellent customer outcomes while ensuring portfolio activities are conducted in line with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.You willbe responsible forthe day-to-day management of an assigned loan book, supporting a range of loan lifecycle activities including arrears management, payment processing, customer engagement, annual reviews, loan maturities, extensions, covenant testing, and compliance reporting. The role requires interaction with customers and internal stakeholders to ensuretimelyandaccurateservicing of facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain an assigned portfolio of loan accounts, ensuring all servicing activities are completed accurately and within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitor customer accounts to ensure they continue to meet the terms and conditions of their loans.
  • Complete covenant testing and identify any issues or potential risks, escalating them where necessary.
  • Carry out annual loan reviews, gathering and assessing customer information and documentation.
  • Manage loan maturities, including processing loan extensions, renewals, and redemptions.
  • Support loan restructures and other changes to customer facilities, ensuring all actions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and support arrears management activities, working with customers to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Monitor payments across different system to support any allocation
  • Build strong relationships with customers through regular contact and excellent customer service.
  • Work closely with teams across Credit, New Business, Legal, Operations, and Risk to support the effective management of the portfolio.
  • Ensure all activities are completed in line with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Senior Operation Manager in driving performance against SLAs and KPIs.
