Job summary

SUEZ is hiring an Assistant Mechanical Technical Plant Engineer to support energy-from-waste, landfill, and resource recovery facilities across the UK. This hands-on role focuses on mechanical systems, fault finding, and project assistance to improve plant reliability, performance and safety.

Ideal for graduates or those with an industrial placement, apprenticeship, or early industry experience who want a long-term career in sustainability and resource management.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum three years' experience with industrial mechanical systems.
• Experience with steam raising plant is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure across SUEZ sites, assisting with fault finding, maintenance activities, and operational improvements.
• Support engineering projects, including preparing technical specifications, tender documentation, installation activities, and commissioning works.
• Assist with improving plant reliability, efficiency, and resilience.
• Collaborate with operational, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in line with relevant legislation, engineering standards, and SUEZ health, safety, and environmental policies.
