Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Junior Maintenance Engineer for a leading family-run agricultural business in Tonbridge. You will join a well-established team maintaining specialist machinery and supporting with electrical safety checks.

The role offers training and development opportunities, a competitive salary (£35,000–£40,000), pension, employee discounts and 5 days a week, with scope to advance in food production and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Must have a qualification or hands-on experience in mechanical or maintenance engineering within a food production or manufacturing environment.
• Maintain specialist machinery and equipment to ensure uptime.
• Carry out electrical safety checks and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Assist with installation of new equipment and commissioning.

Are you a Maintenance Engineer looking to join a well-established, family-run business offering excellent training and career development opportunities?

This family-run agricultural business has been established for over 60 years and operates across a 750-hectare farm in Kent. It has grown into one of the UK’s leading fruit-growing and packing companies, supplying fresh produce to retailers throughout the year.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining specialist machinery and equipment, diagnosing and resolving breakdowns, carrying out electrical safety checks, and assisting with the installation of new equipment.

This role would suit someone with a relevant qualification in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering, or someone with experience in a food production or manufacturing environment who is looking to develop their technical skills within a well-established business.
